Jaanika Mägi couture embroidery

Janika Mägi is a jewelry and embroidery designer based in London, who specializes in two historical embroideries – gold embroidery and bead embroidery created with a hook.

She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a major in fashion design and received an apprenticeship in embroidery at Hand&Lock, a fashion house founded in 1767 in London. For many years, she was the head of the hand embroidery department, the leader of the work processes and the polisher of the team’s embroidery skills.

Now Janika Mägi creates haute couture accessory collections under her own brand, makes embroidery projects for world-famous fashion houses and teaches courses from beginners to professionals in Tallinn, London, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Williamsburg and Sydney.
